6/5/2000 After years attempting to repair worn out frames on the original wrought iron and wooden single pane windows, we focused on complete replacement of all 63 windows. After reviewing many types of windows we decided on modern, double-pane windows that offered options to allow us to maintain the character of the originals while significantly improving the energy efficiency of the house. Special attention was paid to the main house where windows were selected that had false 6″x8″ muttons and a color that matched exterior surfaces.
